Meta announced on Thursday the launch of a new AI-powered creator assistant on Facebook, designed to offer personalized guidance to content creators based on their individual style, audience engagement, and growth objectives. The tool replaces the need to manually sift through analytics dashboards, allowing creators to ask conversational questions like "When should I post?" or "What are people saying in my comments?" — and follow up with deeper queries about how their audience is shifting over time. Recommendations are tailored to each creator's specific performance data, and the assistant can also brainstorm content ideas by surfacing trending audio, cultural moments, and formats relevant to the creator's niche.

The rollout begins with creators in the United States, Canada, and India, with Meta planning to expand to additional markets and add new features over time. The move is a clear competitive play as Meta battles TikTok and YouTube for creator mindshare. By embedding AI tools directly into the platform, Meta reduces the appeal of third-party services like ChatGPT for tasks like content brainstorming and performance analysis, while also nudging creators to post more frequently — a key driver of overall user engagement on Facebook.

Alongside the assistant, Meta is expanding its AI translation feature for Reels to five new languages: Arabic, Bahasa Indonesian, French, Thai, and Vietnamese. The tool, which launched last year, preserves a creator's tone and voice when translating videos and now includes an optional lip-sync feature that aligns translated speech with on-screen mouth movements for a more natural look. Meta reports that more than 500 million users on Facebook are now watching AI-translated videos on a weekly basis, underscoring how significant cross-language reach has become for the platform's video strategy.

The dual announcements point to Meta's broader bet that AI-driven tools will both attract and retain creators who might otherwise drift to competitors. With the new assistant handling the analytical and creative heavy lifting, Meta is positioning Facebook as a one-stop ecosystem where creators can ideate, publish, translate, and optimize — all without ever leaving the app.
