OpenAI announced ChatGPT Images 2.5 on Tuesday with a new feature called Sketch that lets users draw doodles directly inside ChatGPT. Users can activate it by typing @Sketch into the chat box, and a window pops up where they can make their drawing, then describe how they want it transformed into an image.
The feature was tested and successfully turned a basic doodle of a cat drawn with a computer mouse into a realistic photo based on instructions. Users can also leave comments directly on specific parts of generated images to request changes to those areas.
ChatGPT Images 2.5 offers "more natural lighting and richer textures," is better at following editing instructions "across multiple turns," and has reduced image generation latency by "up to 50% compared with Images 2.0." ChatGPT Images 2.5 is available now for ChatGPT, ChatGPT Work, and Codex users on desktop, mobile, and web.
