LinkedIn's "Seems like AI slop" button, announced on July 30th, has seen significant usage. According to chief product officer Hari Srinivasan, over a million people have clicked the button, which is accessible from the three dots menu on a post.

The feature was introduced a few weeks after AI detector Pangram determined that 41 percent of LinkedIn's longform posts were flagged as fully AI generated. Alongside the button, LinkedIn introduced "new and improved" classifiers to identify AI posts and removed a feature that would "enhance your post" with AI.

The changes appear to be working. Srinivasan reported that users are now experiencing 40 percent less views on content classified as AI slop. LinkedIn is also adding a new message that will alert users if "Some members told us this post seems like AI."
