Google will soon allow users to customize their Discover feed by describing what they want to see. The new feature, rolling out to the Google app in the "coming days," uses AI to automatically tweak the feed and remember preferences for future visits. The option appears within the three-dot menu on the Discover feed.

As shown in a video shared by Google, tapping the feature opens a chatbot-style interface where users describe their preferences. The chatbot confirms choices and outlines the content it will prioritize, with the option to add more information if needed. Users can then hit "Refresh your feed" for the changes to take effect.

Google also announced updates to Preferred Sources, which lets users see more of their favorite outlets across Search's "top stories" section, AI Overviews, and AI Mode. Publishers can now place an interactive "Preferred Sources" button on their sites, allowing readers to quickly add outlets without navigating away. Additionally, users can now choose topics for personalized daily audio briefings in the Google News app on Android.
