Google is rolling out three new travel planning features directly in AI Mode in Search: flight price tracking, points/miles rate viewing, and hotel booking capabilities. These upgrades aim to streamline the travel planning process by keeping users within AI Mode rather than switching to separate apps or sites.
The flight price tracking feature brings Google Flights' popular price alert system into AI Mode. Users can set up alerts by describing their desired route and dates, with access to real-time pricing from over 300 partner airlines and travel sites. When prices change, users receive email notifications. This feature is now available in more than 180 countries and territories.
AI Mode can now display rewards redemption costs in points or miles for both flights and hotels. The feature currently supports Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, American Airlines, Choice Hotels International, Hilton, and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, with additional partners including Accor, Flying Blue, Hyatt, LATAM Airlines, and Lufthansa Group coming soon.
Google is also introducing direct hotel booking through AI Mode, allowing users to discover and reserve hotels without leaving the search experience.
