OpenAI is releasing a device related to its AI-powered coding tool, Codex, on July 15th. A video posted to X on Monday shows a square-shaped device with several buttons alongside the caption, “Your favorite Codex shortcuts are getting an upgrade.”

The device is being launched in partnership with Work Louder, a company that sells mechanical keyboards and macro pads with mappable keys, dials, and switches. The silhouette in the teaser resembles Work Louder’s Creator Micro 2, a macro pad equipped with 13 mechanical switches, a joystick, and a touch sensor that lets users assign shortcuts and custom actions for different apps. Figma previously partnered with Work Louder on a similar macro pad with preconfigured shortcuts.

This collaboration is separate from the mysterious AI-powered device OpenAI is developing with former Apple designer Jony Ive. Neither OpenAI nor Work Louder has shared further details about the upcoming Codex device.
