Suno has released v6, its first AI music model developed with support from major record labels. The model was trained from the ground up using new data that does not include the same data as previous models. The training data includes content licensed from partners Warner Music Group, BMG, and Believe, as well as user data.

The v6 release includes three distinct models: v6, v6-wild, and v6-mini. The free v6-mini focuses on fast, resource-light creation with simpler results. v6-wild is designed to produce "happy accidents and natural imperfections," though testing found it difficult to distinguish from standard v6. All three models show dramatic improvements in understanding and replicating musical genres.

Suno v6 also introduces new interaction features, including the ability to edit parts of songs using plain language within a chat interface, and combining elements from a user's Suno library into new creations. Prompts are no longer limited to text descriptions.
