Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella confirmed during an earnings call that the company is developing an AI "super app" combining Copilot's chat, coding, and agentic capabilities. The app will span "both consumer and commercial experiences" and is set to launch this year.

Nadella described the vision as: "Copilot is evolving rapidly from chat to Cowork to Autopilots." He stated, "This quarter, we are bringing these Copilot experiences together, including code, in one super app." The confirmation follows a Fortune report revealing Microsoft has been working on a super app blending its Copilot chatbot, GitHub Copilot coding assistant, Copilot Cowork, and the agentic Autopilot system.

The announcement comes as Microsoft reported quarterly revenue of $90 billion, with AI and cloud businesses driving the increase. OpenAI also recently revealed its own competing ChatGPT Work app, which combines ChatGPT with its AI coding tool Codex.
